Who is Aisha Kingu

Poetry rooted in love and life, written to foster fulfilment in people's lives.

Aisha S. Kingu is a Tanzanian poetess, advocate and public speaker based in Dar es Salaam, and the founder of AiSaKi Artistry, a place that cherishes and shares beautiful art in many forms. She is a member of the Commonwealth Partnership for Technology Management (CPTM).

She began writing poetry in primary school, encouraged by her teacher, and has since published books of poetry and quotes, including Poetry Rebirth, A Day with a Quote, Dear Paula, the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals in English and Kiswahili, and her latest collection, Sing Gratitude.

Her poems have appeared on Spillwords, Medium and Poem Hunter, among other platforms. She donates books to schools and orphanages, supports including Tanzanian authors in school curricula, and champions young talent through mentorship.

In 2017 she took part in the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi, Russia, where she delivered a poem of appreciation. She has also written poems for leaders and institutions around the world.
